High School Mission Ocala '08
At 3:45 AM on June 15, (yes AM) 12 students and 6 adults met at FPC to start their journey to Ocala, FL. In the following pictures you will get to see our Mission Ocala '08 tasks and just some fun shots. The only regret I have is that I didn't get many shots of our digs where we stayed in Ocala but I will include the website where you can see pictures of Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church.
On Monday and Wednesday, our group went to Interfaith Emergency Services of Ocala, FL to help sort food in their food pantry as well as get the Food for Kids warehouse ready for the upcoming school year. IES has their website here: http://www.marion-interfaith.org/
On Tuesday and Thursday, our group went to Habitat for Humanity where we landscaped and hung insulation. http://www.habitatocala.org/07_our%20mission.html
On Wednesday, half of the group stayed back in order to apply mulch to the playground of the daycare at Silver Springs Shores. http://www.ssspreschurch.org/
On Friday, we all went to Walt Disney World for our free day.
I hope you enjoy all of our pictures and on a personal note, every one of these kids and adults worked so very hard and represented FPC Greensburg flawlessly (I know this because I received compliments on their friendliness and hard work every where we went.) God's mission for us to Ocala was fruiful and I am thankful that everyone is home safely. I was so proud of our group being able to share the love of Jesus Christ everywhere we went.
